The scheme referred to by the Deputy owes its origin to an EEC regulation which specifies that the measure was intended to be completed by 31st December, 1974. As such regulations have the force of law here, it is not within my competence to extend the closing date for receipt of applications for participation in the scheme to 31st March, 1975.
Will late applications be considered?
No. They cannot be. I have got legal advice on that.
