Vol. 279 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Offaly Unemployment Benefit.

11.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare when unemployment benefit will be paid to a person (name supplied) in County Offaly.

This person's claim to unemployment benefit from 16th December, 1974, was disallowed by a deciding officer on the ground that the claimant did not satisfy the statutory condition which requires her to be available for employment. The person appealed against this decision. Following an oral hearing of her appeal, at which she attended and gave evidence, the appeals officer confirmed the disallowance of benefit. The person has been notified of the decision of the appeals officer, which is final in the absence of new facts or fresh evidence.
