asked the Minister for Education if he is aware of the anxiety among parents of children attending Newcastle national school, County Dublin concerning conditions prevailing there at present due to lack of accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter with particular reference to the extension proposed for this school.

My Department have already sanctioned a grant towards the cost of a scheme of enlargement of Newcastle national school. Tenders for the work are being examined by the Office of Public Works who have been asked to authorise the placing of a contract as soon as possible.
