Copies of the planning committee's report recommending the establishment of a teaching council to be known as An Chomhairle Mhúinteoireachta were forwarded to the various interested bodies—the teacher organisations, universities, colleges of education, educational associations—for their observations on the report. When these observations are received and considered I shall be in a position to make an announcement in connection with the matter. The observations of all the bodies concerned have not yet been received.
