Vol. 279 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cavan Dental Service.

14.

asked the Minister for Health the arrangements he intends to make to have school children who are being taken to the dentist from the West Cavan area accompanied by a qualified nurse or attendant.

The making of arrangements for dental services for eligible children in the West Cavan area is the responsibility of the North-Eastern Health Board.

I understand that the board have an arrangement whereby children from the area in question are brought by minibus to the Ballyconnell clinic where dental treatment is provided daily. It is open to the parents, if they so wish, to accompany their children to the dental clinic. The board do not consider it necessary that a qualified nurse or attendant should accompany the children.

Therefore, the parents may go, too?
