Yes; on the 18th November, 1974 the Council of the EEC made regulations relating to the production and marketing of sparkling wines. These regulations will apply as from 1st September, 1975 and, will be binding on all member states. While they will mainly affect the member states who produce sparkling wines, they will also be of benefit to consumers.
