There was no delay in my Department in dealing with the recent application for an increase in the price of sugar.
It is difficult to estimate the effect, if any, which this increase might have on employment in industries that use sugar in their manufacturing processes as the position will be affected by the extent to which consequential increases may be necessary in the price of finished products.
