Vol. 280 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Sites Development.

54.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that Dublin Corporation are erecting plastic poles on a corporation-owned site on Sarsfield Road; and if he will ask the corporation to draw up final plans for the development of the site in question.

On the information furnished by the Deputy, it would be difficult to identify the site he has in mind. I would suggest that if he were to inform the corporation of the exact location of the site they would no doubt let him know their proposals in relation to it. The drawing up of plans for the development of a site in the ownership of a local authority is in the first instance a matter for that authority. I am sorry I cannot give the Deputy further information.

That is all right. I know what has happened.

55.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has yet received proposals regarding the re-development of Moore Street/Parnell Street, Dublin.

A number of appeals under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, were lodged with me in relation to a decision by Dublin Corporation to grant permission for a scheme for the development of a site bounded by Moore Street, Parnell Street, Chapel Lane and Mary Street. An oral hearing in the matter was held on the 14th March, 1975 and I decided the case on the 25th April, 1975 by granting permission subject to conditions.
