Vol. 280 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Accommodation for Handicapped.

1.

asked the Minister for Health if he will consider building a house for the handicapped with State support as has been done in a suburb of Bonn in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The building of the centre in Bonn to which the Deputy refers commenced only last year and will not be completed until 1976. While I shall keep in touch with the development of this project, it is very doubtful whether a judgment can be made on its benefits until it has been in operation for some time. I have no plans for a similar centre in this country.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary examine this development with a view to following the lead given? It is a useful development.

I have indicated already that we are keeping in touch with the development of this project.
