Vol. 280 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Galway Works.

254.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of all works to be undertaken in County Galway in 1975 with moneys provided by his Department.

With moneys provided in the Vote for Public Works and Buildings routine maintenance work will be carried out as required in 1975 at State-owned premises, national monuments and marine works in County Galway as well as maintenance of the Killimor-Cappagh, Corrib-Headford and Corrib-Clare drainage schemes.

Major works at present in progress in the county and financed out of that Vote are as follows:

Kiltullagh: Erection of new Garda Station.

Rossmore Quay: Improvements.

Portumna Castle: Conservation works.

Kilmacduagh Churches: Conservation works.

Clontuskert Abbey: Conservation works.

Fiddaun Castle: Conservation works.

Other major works which are being planned at present and which it is hoped may commence in 1975 are the erection of new offices for Roinn na Gaeltachta staff at Furbo, the provision of a new harbour at Portumna Castle and the conservation of national monuments at St. Macdara's Island and the Aran Islands.
