In reply to a question by Deputy Lemass on this matter on 28th March, 1974, I said that I had set up a working party representative of my Department, the Department of Industry and Commerce and CIE to develop practical proposals for a Transport Users' Council. I understand that the working group has now completed its deliberations and I expect the report of the working group in the next week or so.
Another working party, representative of my Department, the Department of Industry and Commerce and the ESB, which was set up to examine the possibility of establishing an Electricity Consumers' Council, have concluded their deliberations and will be reporting to me shortly.
When does the Minister expect a report from them?
As the CIE report is expected next week I expect the ESB one at the same time.
