asked the Minister for Education the anticipated intake of pupils in primary schools in Bray town, County Wicklow, next July; whether any serious accommodation problem exists; and, if so, the action that has been taken in the matter.

There is no precise information available in my Department as to the probable intake of primary school pupils in schools in the Bray area next July but based on the figures of recent years, an upward trend in enrolments is anticipated.

In order to cater for future development, the following are the proposals for additional primary school accommodation:

Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish: The manager was authorised on 11th December, 1974, to have sketch plans prepared for a new 16-classroom school on a seven-acre site in the Ballymorris area of Bray.

Ravenswell Convent National School (7246): The manager has been authorised to have sketch plans prepared for an additional four classrooms to supplement the existing 18 classrooms.

St. Patrick's Convent National School, Bray (17537): This school, having formerly 12 classrooms, was recently extended to 18 classrooms together with a general purposes room. The school also has a domestic economy room and an assembly room.

St. Peter's Boys, Little Bray (18484): A renovation/improvement scheme was authorised on 16th April, 1975, in order to provide one extra classroom and one remedial classroom. The manager's architect will submit plans. Present accommodation consists of 11 classrooms and a general purposes room.

Fassaroe Park/Palermo area, Little Bray: The Commissioners of Public Works have recently reported that the manager has an option of a three-acre site and that it is suitable for a school of 16 classrooms. The manager will now be authorised to have sketch plans prepared for the school.

The pupil-teacher ratio refers to each school as a unit and not to particular classes.

The ratio at present is as follows:
