Vol. 280 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Aerial Photographic Survey.

14.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if the aerial photographic survey of the country which was commenced in April, 1973 and which by 21st March, 1974 had surveyed 44 per cent of the country, has now been completed.

The Geological Survey of my Department, on whose behalf the survey is being undertaken, estimates that, to date, about 67 per cent of the country has been covered.

When is it expected to be completed?

There are two separate things. One is the actual taking of the photographs and the other is the final checking out and seeing that everything is perfect. The taking of the photographs is not something one can do all the year round. It can be done during the long days but the photographing, not the scrutiny, is expected to be completed by the end of the summer.
