Vol. 281 No. 5

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take Nos. 10, Votes 49 (resumed) and 9, Supplementary, 4 and 11 (resumed). No. 4 will be taken at 2 p.m. and No. 11 at 4 p.m. Private Members' Business, No. 23 by agreement, will be taken between 6 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.

Inadvertently when announcing the sittings for this week I omitted to mention that Thursday was a Holy Day and it is suggested that we meet at 11.30 a.m. instead of 10.30 a.m.

In respect of No. 4, the motion seeking approval for the terms of the Agreement for Joint Financing of North Atlantic Ocean Stations, I understand it was agreed with our spokesman on foreign affairs that this be taken today as it was noncontroversial. The Taoiseach has a propensity for going to sea and bringing the Dáil with him. I would like him to accept a reservation from me on taking that item at 2 p.m., pending the matter being cleared—we have not yet seen a copy of the agreement —and ensuring that it is not controversial.

That is satisfactory. It is necessary to have this passed by the end of the month but we are agreeable to whatever the Leader of the Opposition suggests.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to raise the subject matter of Question No. 42 of 10th April, 1975, on the Adjournment.

I will communicate with the Deputy.

Could the Taoiseach indicate when we might resume after the bank holiday weekend?

I suggest Tuesday, 3 p.m.

A very short week-end.

Perhaps we can work out an acceptable compromise.

The Taoiseach has had his weekend but we have not had ours yet.
