Vol. 281 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Lands.

6.

asked the Minister for Lands whether a decision on the allotment of the lands of a person (name supplied) in County Donegal has yet been made; and, if not, when it may be expected.

(Cavan): Possession of the property referred to has not yet passed to the Land Commission. It is not possible, therefore, at this stage to indicate when the lands will be divided.

Have these lands not been let in conacre and, as is generally understood, let with the authority of the Land Commission?

(Cavan): No, that is not so. They have not been let by the Land Commission because the Land Commission have not yet got possession. The sale has not yet been closed.

Are the Land Commission definitely taking these lands? Is it purely a technicality?

(Cavan): My information is that the lands have been acquired by voluntary purchase, that the contract has been drawn up and that, following that, a request was made for the exclusion of an area.

Exclusion?

(Cavan): The information I have would indicate that the owner has requested that he be allowed retain portion.

That is a change from the original situation.

(Cavan): Yes, a slight change.
