Vol. 281 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Road Repair.

12.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will arrange for a further contribution through the Forestry Division of his Department to Kerry County Council under the local improvements grants scheme to enable the council to complete the repairing and tarring of the Deerpark Road near Killarney which leads to a forest; and the amount of the proposed contribution.

(Cavan): My Department has already contributed a sum of £88 towards the repair of this road and following representations by the Kerry County Council on the basis of an upward revision of the cost of the work, is agreeable to contribute a further £61, making an overall contribution of £149.

That has reference to Question No. 2 and while I am not interested in going back I want to ask the Minister if he is aware that there is no problem in getting money for local communities from the Forestry Division but the point I wanted to make previously is that the difficulty arises where the Land Commission own farms.

(Cavan): I repeat what I said to the Deputy in reply to his question, that if he brings a particular case to my notice I shall have it looked into.
