Vol. 282 No. 6

Written Answers. - Offaly Old Age Pensioner.

29.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a noncontributory old age pension has not been paid to a person (name supplied) in County Offaly who applied last January.

A pension order book at the full pension rate, which is £8.85 a week since 4th April, 1975, was issued to the person concerned on 22nd May, 1975. His wife who has now reached pension age is also entitled to pension at that rate from 4th April, 1975, and has been issued with a pension book simultaneously. Delay arose due to the fact that the social welfare officer had difficulty in obtaining particulars of a deed relating to the transfer of a holding which were required for the assessment of means.
