Vol. 282 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Eye Clinic Appointments.

16.

asked the Minister for Health if he is aware of the delay of nearly three months in obtaining appointments for the eye clinic at Ardkeen Hospital, Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This is primarily a matter for the South-Eastern Health Board. Inquiries have been made, however, and I am informed that there is a waiting period of about three months for non-urgent cases. Urgent cases are seen without delay.

A scheme of improvements at the ophthalmic unit in Ardkeen Hospital is nearing completion, including a new clinic and a new operating theatre.
