Vol. 282 No. 6

Excess Vote, 1972-73. - Vote 42: Transport and Power (Supplementary)

I move:

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £600 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of December, 1975, for the salaries and expenses of the Office of the Minister for Transport and Power including certain services administered by that Office, and for payment of sundry grants-in-aid.

Will the Taoiseach state how much money has been paid to the Gas Company and how much is it proposed to pay the Gas Company in future?

I am sorry, I have not that information. However, I will get it for the Deputy.

I appreciate the Taoiseach's difficulty. Is he able to indicate if the intention in general is to pay money to the Gas Company or to guarantee money to them?

To guarantee it.

That is primarily the point about which I was concerned.

Vote put and agreed to.
