Vol. 283 No. 1

Written Answers. - Meath Pensioner.

288.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that a person in County Meath (name supplied) who is in receipt of a widow's pension of £2.85 per week was refused the old age pension when she reached the age of 67 years; and if, in view of the fact that she was in receipt of a pension, he will consider allowing her to retain it.

The person concerned will not reach old age pension age, 67, until 6th September 1975. Meanwhile her claim to an old age non-contributory pension is before an appeals officer and she continues to receive a widow's non-contributory pension at the rate of £3.85 a week. A widow's non-contributory pension is not payable when a person attains old age pension age.
