Vol. 285 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Hospital.

34.

asked the Minister for Health when the Western Health Board will take over the Cottage Hospital in Kiltimagh, County Mayo, for use as an old people's home; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This is primarily a matter for the Western Health Board. I understand that the premises of the former Cottage Hospital in Kiltimagh have been leased by the Commissioners of Public Works since 1925 and that they have been used as a Garda station since then.

The Minister for Finance, in reply to questions which have been tabled will deal with the issue of the provision of a new garda station. It is only, of course, in circumstances where the hospital premises ceased to be used for this purpose that their reversion to use in the health services could be considered.
