I move:
That the Ceann Comhairle direct the Clerk of the Dáil to issue his Writ for the election of a member to fill the vacancy which has occurred in the membership of the present Dáil consequent on the death of Deputy Henry Kenny, a member for the Constituency of West Mayo.
Will the Parliamentary Secretary indicate at this stage if the by-election date will be fixed during the week for the week beginning Monday, 10th November or for the week beginning Monday, 17th November?
I cannot tell the Leader of the Opposition that but I anticipate the date will be fixed very shortly and I will communicate with him as soon as I know.
