The number of appointments to the Civil Service, Defence Forces, Garda Síochána and teaching in the years ended 30th September, 1973-1975, were: 1973, 11,708; 1974, 12,739; 1975, 12,642. The numbers included for the Civil Service were the actual numbers of offers of appointment. Some of these offers would not have been accepted.
Particulars of recruitment by health boards and other health agencies could not be got in the time available.
