asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will furnish particulars of duration of illness in excess of two weeks by reference to the first 50 current consecutive payments to (a) married men and (b) married women in a recent week or longer period, indicating the duration of illness in the general form of a reply of 3rd November, 1964.

Statistics of duration of illness are not extracted in the form requested by the Deputy.

The distribution of claims for disability benefit according to duration of illness in 1973, the latest year for which figures are available, is as follows:—
