Vol. 286 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cattle and Sheep Value.

4.

asked the Taoiseach the estimated value of cattle and sheep slaughtered for the domestic market in Ireland.

The estimated value, at agricultural prices, of cattle and sheep slaughtered for the domestic market in 1974 was £40 million and £18 million respectively.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary indicate the percentage of the total kill in the case of both cattle and sheep which the domestic kill represents? Possibly the Parliamentary Secretary has not got this figure. If he has, I would be glad to have it.

I did not catch the Deputy's supplementary.

Can the Parliamentary Secretary tell me the percentage the domestic kill bears to the total kill?

I have not got that, but I will try to discover if it is available.
