Vol. 286 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Marine Wildlife.

5.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will consider the establishment of marine parks and reserves to protect wildlife in the sea as this matter has not been included in the Wildlife Bill before the Oireachtas.

(Cavan): I am satisfied that the provisions of the Wildlife Bill generally—and, more particularly, of sections 2, 15 and 23— are such as will cater adequately for the conservation requirements of marine wildlife, including the establishment of suitable nature reserves where necessary.
