Vol. 286 No. 12

Written Answers. - County Dublin By-Pass.

143.

asked the Minister for Local Government the reason for the delay in processing the proposal for the Santry by-pass, County Dublin, which is now many years outstanding.

Consideration of the Dublin County Council (Santry By-Pass Scheme) Compulsory Purchase Order, 1963, was deferred at the request of the local authority, pending the finalisation of the Dublin County Council Compulsory Purchase (Roads and Open Spaces) No. 1 Order, 1971, which now in effect supersedes the 1963 order. It was not possible to proceed with the 1971 order pending the enactment of the Local Government (Roads and Motorways) Act, 1974. As objections to the 1971 order were received, a public local inquiry into these would be necessary. The local authority have indicated that they are not yet ready for the local inquiry.
