asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that the cable car into Dursey Island, County Cork, has been out of order for long periods during the past few months; and if he will make arrangements with Cork County Council to have it properly repaired immediately.

This is a matter wholly within the competence of Cork County Council. I am informed that essential renewals and repairs have caused interruptions in the service but that normal working has been restored since early in November.
