It has been necessary to co-ordinate the plans for the erection of new buildings for the Garda Síochána at Kanturk with plans for a new telephone exchange which is urgently required and which will be built on the same site as the Garda station. The re-planning and consultation involved have taken longer than anticipated. Plans for the combined projects are now well advanced and every effort will be made to have tenders invited by the summer.
