Vol. 287 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Wicklow Hospital.

178.

asked the Minister for Health if full use is being made of all the patient accommodation space in St. Colman's Hospital, Rathdrum, County Wicklow; and, if not, why.

This is primarily a matter for the Eastern Health Board, but I understand that accommodation, designed for use as a ward of 12 beds at St. Colman's, is being used as a day room and that a further ward of ten beds is not yet in use. The health board have indicated that extra nursing staff in this hospital would be needed to enable them to bring this ten-bed ward into use and the board are being asked to examine the possibility of redeploying staff for this purpose.
