asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will state in relation to each turf-burning power station (a) the total burning capacity (b) the tonnage burnt in each year since 1972 (c) the price per ton to suppliers in 1976 and (d) the reason for the shortfall in intake in 1976.

I presume that the Deputy is referring to the four small turf-burning stations in Donegal, Kerry, Galway and Cork. I am informed by the ESB that the price paid for sod-turf delivered to these stations is £8 per ton. The board also say it is too early to indicate whether or not there will be any shortfall in intake of turf in 1976.
