Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - School Library Service.

17.

18.

asked the Minister for Education if he will provide the necessary money this year for his Department's contribution to the primary school library service.

19.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Education if the libraries grant for primary schools in County Galway will be restored in 1976.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 17, 18 and 19 together.

Provision has been made in the 1976 Estimates for these grants under subhead c.4 of Vote 30.

Have the local authorities concerned been notified yet of this grant?

I would imagine that they have not been notified of it yet but that this will be attended to in the usual course of events.

I would not like to say precisely when but there will not be too long a delay.

Will the Minister state if the grants will include the amount that was short in 1975?

The 1976 Estimates refer only to 1976, not to 1975.

Did they include any carry-over from 1975?

I would imagine not.

Will the Minister state if the 1976 allocation to each local authority will be sufficient for them to carry out the work that was proceeding up to the time the Minister withheld the grants?
