asked the Minister for Health the action he proposes to take on the report of the BCG Committee that the decline in the number of people suffering from tuberculosis in Ireland is slowing up.

My Department will continue to work, through health boards, for the eradication of the disease. This will require the continued use of all appropriate means to that end, including x-rays, BCG vaccination and treatment of those infected. These services are, of course, available free of charge.
