Vol. 288 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon ATC Centre.

11.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power why the new Upper Control Centre at Shannon Airport, involving considerable Eurocontrol investment, has not come into operation.

It has not been possible to bring the centre into operation at the end of 1975, as planned, due to a number of technical and staffing matters still outstanding. It is hoped that the matters outstanding will be resolved and that it will be possible to bring the centre into service at an early date. Meanwhile, air traffic control operations will not be adversely affected.
