Vol. 289 No. 2

Business of Dáil.

Before the next business commences I wish to protest at the disallowing of my Private Member's question regarding the closure of a viable industry in Clonmel with the loss of employment that involves.

The Deputy knows it is disorderly to challenge the ruling of the Chair.

I am protesting that the Private Member's question has not been allowed.

The Deputy had plenty of time to put down a question if he had so wished.

May I protest also against your failure to allow Deputy Davern to raise this question?

The Chair's ruling may not be challenged in this fashion. Had the Deputy's question been in order, it would have been allowed. I am calling Private Members' Business.
