Vol. 289 No. 2

Written Answers. - Trim Castle Restoration.

37.

asked the Minister for Finance the progress made regarding the restoration of Trim Castle, County Meath.

As the Deputy was informed by my predecessor on 26th March, 1974, the Commissioners of Public Works are not empowered under the National Monuments Acts to incur expenditure on restoring Trim Castle or any National Monument. Down through the years there have been proposals by private interests for the restoration of Trim Castle but none of them has come to fruition.
