Vol. 290 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

70.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that a person in Galway (name supplied) is being denied the opportunity of purchasing his local authority dwelling due to non-availability of statistical information from his Department which would enable Galway Corporation to issue the terms of the 1976 tenant purchase scheme; and if he will make a statement in the matter.

I understand that the tenant in question did not apply to Galway Corporation to purchase his dwelling under the 1975 sales scheme which expired on 31st December, 1975. At present, I am reconsidering the general terms on which local authority tenants may purchase their dwellings under a 1976 sales scheme. I expect to be in a position shortly to notify local authorities of the terms of that scheme.
