Vol. 291 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Speed Limits.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government the cause of the long delay in making the order to change the speed limit signs at Farranfore and at the Port Road, Killarney, County Kerry, details of which were submitted for sanction to his Department 18 months ago.

Proposals for the amendment of speed limits in County Kerry were received in my Department on 19th February, 1976. The proposals include an extension of the speed limit at Farranfore but there is no proposal in respect of the Port Road, Killarney. Minor amendments were suggested to the local authority on 24th February, 1976, together with a request for maps and metric measurement in accordance with the principles on which responsibility for this function was devolved to local authorities. Final documentation is awaited for the purpose of making amending regulations.
