Vol. 291 No. 14

Vote 46: Army Pensions.

I move:

That a sum not exceeding £12,305,000 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of December, 1976, for retired pay, pensions, compensation, allowances and gratuities payable under sundry statutes to or in respect of members of the Defence Forces and certain other Military Organisations, etc., and for sundry contributions and expenses in connection therewith; for certain extra-statutory children's allowances and for sundry grants.

On a point of procedure, may I clarify that it does not seem to be necessary that each Minister should read out the details?

The practice of the House has been that the Vote on Army Pensions is not moved until after the Estimate on Defence. That meant that this Vote was never moved. It had to be moved——

I was merely suggesting that we could settle for the Minister just saying, "I move".

It was necessary that the Vote for Army Pensions be put on the record of the House.

May I send this information to the Minister?

We cannot go back to the other Estimate.

I want to send over the photostat of the photograph of the factory in which the vehicle is being produced in Belgium.

I do not accept that it is being produced in Belgium but I will take the photograph.

Made in our factory in Belgium is written on it.

Vote put and agreed to.
