Vol. 291 No. 15

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mayo Estate.

34.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission proposes to sanction the building of new houses for applicants whose holdings were rearranged at Mwellian on the Dickens estate, Currane, Achill Sound, County Mayo.

(Cavan): The Land Commission did not undertake to provide buildings in connection with the rearrangement scheme referred to but five of the nine tenants involved were offered financial assistance towards the cost of building works to be carried out by themselves. All five have accepted and the financial assistance is now available to them. A late application from a sixth tenant is under consideration.
