Vol. 293 No. 6

Written Answers. - Military Policeman Enlistment.

105.

asked the Minister for Defence why a military policeman (name supplied) in County Laois was not enlisted for another term.

The man referred to by the Deputy enlisted in the Permanent Defence Force on 18th August, 1970, for a period of three years. He applied for and was granted permission to extend the period of his original enlistment by three years. He did not apply for permission to extend his period of service further and was discharged on 17th August, 1976, "on termination of engagement"—one of the reasons for discharge prescribed in Defence Force Regulations A.10.
