Vol. 293 No. 8

Written Answers. - County Cork Electricity Supply.

51.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he will arrange with the ESB to have electricity provided for a person (name supplied) in County Cork.

I am informed by the ESB that the person in question has accepted terms for supply under the subsidised rural electrification scheme. Work on extending supply to his premises is expected to start in a few weeks and should be completed before Christmas. I understand from the ESB that the person in question is an old-age pensioner who, on application to the Department of Social Welfare, may be entitled to some free electricity allowances.
