Vol. 293 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Donegal County Council Finances.

10.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state, in relation to moneys available to Donegal County Council for expenditure in the current and past financial years, the amounts that were allocated from (i) rates (ii) exchequer grants and (iii) EEC funds.

It is presumed that the Deputy is referring to the current, or revenue, expenditure of Donegal County Council. Of the council's current expenditure in 1975 and 1976, the amounts provided in rates were £1,716,261 and £2,174,097, respectively. The amounts of State grants and subsidies are estimated at £4,060,747 and £5,172,714 in the respective years. Allocations from the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund—FEOGA—in respect of capital expenditure on public water supply schemes amounted to £53,022 in 1975 and £36,800 in 1976. Furthermore, the public capital programme for the years in question reflects the benefit of regional fund assistance for a number of infrastructural projects including some in respect of Donegal County Council.

Question No. 11 is postponed.
