Vol. 293 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Limerick Market Trustees.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government the progress, if any, made by Limerick Corporation in acquiring all the properties held by Limerick Market Trustees.

I am not directly involved in these dealings. I am, however, informed by Limerick Corporation that they have completed the purchase of bondholder and mortgagee interests in the Limerick markets. I am told, further, that the corporation have now undertaken a detailed study in relation to the property owned by the market trustees with a view to deciding on the future course of action. I believe that, because of the legal complexities of the situation, the study and the followup action are expected to take some time to complete.
