I expect that the question of future ownership of the Grand and Royal Canals, which are at present vested in CIE, will be considered by the Government in the near future.
I appreciate what the Minister said, but this has gone on so long that there is a belief abroad that there is a great malaise over the development of our waterways which are deteriorating while we await the Government's decision. I would ask the Minister to push his Government colleagues for a quick decision.

(Dublin Central): Will the Minister give any indication if that part of the Grand Canal between Suir Road Bridge and James' Street Harbour has been transferred to Dublin Corporation?
I am not as familiar with the actual location as the Deputy but a portion of the canal has been transferred to Dublin Corporation; perhaps that is the portion the Deputy is talking about.
