Vol. 294 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Borough Boundary Extensions.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government if there are any proposals before his Department to facilitate borough boundary extensions; and if he has considered the application by Wexford Corporation to extend their boundary.

The question of simplifying the law relating to borough boundary extensions is one of the matters included in a general Local Government Bill being prepared at present in my Department. As far as Wexford Borough is concerned there is no proposal before my Department at the moment for an extension of the boundary.

Will the Minister state when he hopes to have this legislation before the House?

I hope it will be before the House sometime before the end of the next session—sometime before Easter.
