Vol. 294 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wandering Horses.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the damage caused to motorists and to residents' gardens by the menace of wandering horses in and around Limerick city; and the action he proposes to take to rectify the situation.

I have seen press reports on this subject. In any area where wandering animals are a source of traffic hazard, it is within the functions of the Garda to deal with the matter. Issues of civil liability in respect of damage to private property are not my responsibility.
