Vol. 294 No. 4

Written Answers. - Children's Allowance Book.

98.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in returning a children's allowance book to a person (details supplied) in County Galway.

The reason for the delay in returning a children's allowance book to the person concerned was that, while she had originally sent the book to the Department to have the rate payable to her reduced as a child over 16 years of age had ceased attending school, she subsequently informed the Department that the child had resumed attendance at school. When this had been confirmed payment, including an allowance in respect of the child concerned, was resumed at the full rate.
