Vol. 294 No. 7

Written Answers. - Road Accident Statistics.

61.

Mr. Kitt

asked the Minister for Local Government if figures are available on the age groups involved in road accidents in recent years; and if there has been a decrease in the number of road deaths and injuries.

Details of all road accidents reported to the Garda within the ten-year period 1966-1975 are obtainable from the booklet titled Road Accident Facts published by An Foras Forbartha Teoranta. I am arranging to have a copy sent to the Deputy.

The total number of persons killed or injured by road accidents in the years since 1972 were as follows:—
