asked the Minister for Lands the number of farmers in County Limerick who have sold their farms to his Department under the farm retirement scheme and have been paid for them.

Cavan): Eight farmers in County Limerick have sold their lands to the Land Commission under the farmers' retirement scheme. These transactions have been completed and the purchase moneys have been paid. In addition, three other farmers have either sold or leased their lands to development farmers and are now in receipt of the benefits of the scheme.

In a further six cases price has been agreed and contracts are being prepared. In another case price negotiations are in progress. A further eight applications are under consideration.
